Mani's Classic Art #2
9:06:05 AM - 19 February 2008
mani is back this time making a recreation of quake art of another kind; action photography. Other critics have labeled it "Art imitating life".
Here you see the original photograph taken at Wart's Lan by
dirtbox followed by mani's work of the same title.

Classic Moments in BesMella History
8:24:33 PM - 3 November 2007
I was having a discussion with
vb yesterday about some of the classic times in BesMella's history and thought I would like to share.
Whilst not updated much now, BesMella in its prime was the clear world leader providing the latest QuakeWorld News. This often drew some negative attention and jealousy from rival websites with, on regular occasions, our whole news posts copied, sometimes word for word and even our article images used directly on other sites.
With
ParadokS being the worst offender at plagiarism, we decided to hit back. Please find the folowing screenshots detailing what happens when you steal our article and link to an image on our server, you might just find the image changes slightly:
enjoy!

The next best thing to an active QW website...
3:53:17 PM - 3 November 2007
I have created a group on Facebook called 'Active Australian Quake Players.'
This seemed to be the easiest, most convenient way to produce a collection of profiles for current QW players and is the perfect way for players to stay in touch, organise comp games, team games or whatever.
Anyone can join the group and Facebook has a bunch of tools that lend themselves to keeping a QW community happening in AU.
If you don't already have a Facebook account sign up and see what you've been missing out on. Its not only good for QW, half of your real life friends are probably already signed up.
I've posted the results from some random pickup games I played this arvo which is the first time I can remember anyone doing that level of 'granular' QW news reporting in ages.
Sign up, join our group and lets try to get a bit of community happening around QW again.
